Because Cold Blooded Cuisine is not a giant corporate feeder operation. We are a home-based Northwest Indiana family business built through creativity, long hours, hands-on work, and probably more conversations about mealworms than any normal household should ever have.

The real boss

Meet Megan

Founder, driving force, best friend—and absolutely the boss.

“Every successful business has a boss. Ours just happens to be my wife.”

Cold Blooded Cuisine was Megan's idea. She had the vision to start the business, build the colonies, grow the operation, and create a dependable local source for reptile owners, hobbyists, breeders, and pet owners throughout Northwest Indiana.

She puts countless hands-on hours into the detailed work that keeps everything moving—including hand-picking mealworm pupae so they can become the next generation of beetles. Yes, one tiny future beetle at a time.

Her idea. Her vision. Her bug empire. I just build the website.

Built with our own hands

Some people have corporate meetings. We sort bugs.

I'm the husband who builds things, fixes things, maintains this website, and occasionally gets voluntold what the next project is. We designed and built much of our own equipment—including our breeding and housing rack systems—instead of paying for an expensive factory-style setup.

We do not have a giant storefront, massive warehouse, executive boardroom, private golf course, or helicopter pad. Actually, we even built this website ourselves. Many hours. Blood. Sweat. No tears yet.

She runs the operation. I run the keyboard. We are building it together.

A military family

Service means something in our family.

Megan is a Naval Academy veteran, and our two oldest sons are currently serving in the United States Navy. We know that service requires sacrifice, discipline, commitment, and support from the entire family.

We have tremendous love, honor, and respect for the men and women who serve—past and present—and for the military families standing beside them. We will always treat them with the respect they deserve.
